Although I have lived in Michigan for a couple of years now, I am not up on locations to fish. Where is the Lexington Harbor?

Also, if you would let me know what type of gear is needed to fish, I would appreciate it. I have a major case of cabin fever that needs attention.

Trout, write an article about it and we'll put it in our fishing library.

Most fisherman in this area say the wind chills are keeping them safe indoors.I hope it warms alittle.

The lakes in south west michigan finally got some good ice on them. I stopped by a couple today south of Monterey that had about 4". Fishing was slow, however for Blugills and only 1 angler on the ice out of about a dozen had any fish. He wasnt giving up much info. either about his bait. I didnt see any Northerns caught, even though there were about 8 tip ups scatterd around.

Fished Lake St. Clair off of Lago's Restaurant in about 4 to 5 feet of water. Water visibility was around 3 to 5 feet. Caught a few decent perch (9-10")and lost a couple of larger ones (11-13")that seemed to spit out the minnow near the hole (or maybe I pulled it out). Also caught a small largemouth bass (12"). My wife also caught some perch and a rock bass. Ice was about 6-7". There were a few pressure cracks to step over and one grew a bit larger when we returned in the evening. The few fish we did get seemed to prefer very active minnows and they hit mostly after the minnow dropped down from the surface. If the bite got slow we raised our minnows to the top and dropped them back down and that seemed to interest the fish. Good Luck.

Finally got some fishable ice here in central PA. Caught some nice perch Sunday on small minnows on tipups and was also catching them jigging with a 1" silver swedish pimple with a glow sticker tipped with waxworms. Bouncing the jig off the bottom a few times then holding it still about 6" off the bottom seemed to work pretty good for me. The tipups seemed to produce better after lifting the bait a few times then setting it back down. A couple times the flag went up before I got to the next tipup. Action was off and on all day with morning and late afternoon being most productive.
Don't know how the unhappy face got there. Tried to disable it but didn't work.
