high 50s and we marked fish

i must have expressed myself poorly, i am not looking for tips, just wondering what others are experiencing

to me, to be fishing now where we usually fish in august seems strange also

 

Gotta fish where the fish are not where they should be. It has been a tough year with water being clear and no flow in river. I have a buddy that went out and caught 17 yesterday on minimal Intel. First time he's been there in three weeks but he knows how to use his graph. Fished shallow for a while then started driving till he saw marks.

Launched at mouth this morning at 7am. Had motor trouble. Stayed in river. Trolled with crawlers till Noon. Caught one keeper and two throw backs. Report at dock from 4 different boat. 2 caught none. 2 others caught one each.

 

2 weekends ago on the left, 3 men and 6 lines.
Last weekend on the right, solo run.
Slower than normal for us, but some decent fish. I would normally toss those bigger fish back.
1.3-1.7 MPH
Crawlers, harnesses and BB'S.
I did lose several big ones on the solo run due to dull hooks, that won't happen again.
But I also threw back more 12"-14" fish than I have ever seen before on the bay.

My boys have been shooting carp at night and seeing lots of walleye real close to where no one can buy a fish during daylight. Water is really clear...

 

Same here,, know couple guys that shoot carp quite often on the bay,they see lots of eyes at night in the shallow.think as daylight approaches most of them start making there way back to deep Water

 

Been out twice. 0 walleye only perch.

Just thinking out loud.....clear water......should tell everyone something.

Bottom bouncers won't work as well, and you might have to fish at night.

 

Tough bite for us the last 2 days. Hot, calm, and buggy. Only managed a couple keepers and a couple shorts.

 

My thinking is I'll be fishing more off Augres ir Tawas this year hopefully. It's a different year for sure with clearer water than usual. I think the deep water will have better fishing than normal. Off the thumb also...jmo. I will be fishing perch more than eyes like I used to from what I'm seeing so far this year. 😀

 

No rain, no dams and no big 2 day northeast blows, that makes clear water[emoji51]

Shes blowing hard today nearshore is really getting churned up. I think it should turn on whenever this wind dies down enough for people to get out

 

We fought hard for 8 eyes and 1 perch today.
Not much until we got some waves going.

TONS of algae blooming out there. I'm thinking maybe the fish are heading out deep for more oxygen. We got 10 yesterday, but I didn't find any decent concentration of fish in less than 30 foot of water.

 

Got 9 in 18' yesterday. Buddy got 20 in 12' just gotta search
