I was reading the minutes from a recent NRC meeting where some person commented to the commission that people should be allowed to hunt varmints from an elevated platform. Personally, I do not varmint hunt but have considered it because I often see coyotes on my property while deer hunting and, I'm in an elevated platform.
It's also my understanding that during daylight hours, one can use a high caliber rifle to hunt varmints in the southern half of the lower peninsula. Based on that fact alone, it sure does seem to make sense to allow hunting for varmints from an elevated platform, simply as a safety concern (errant buttets.)
Thoughts?
