I'm looking for a little clarification on some regulations for coyote hunting. First off I'm new to coyote hunting but an experienced deer hunter. I've never hunted on HAP propery and I'm trying to figure out if HAP properties are considered private property or public land when applying hunting regulations. For example, as a hunter using HAP land, can I use a caliber up to .269 at night in the shotgun zone on HAP properties or am I restricted to rimfire like on public land?

HAP parcels are considered public hunting land for the calendar year. The land is effectively 'leased' by the DNR to provide additional opportunity for hunters.

If you have any questions call them, they will answer any questions you have.

Thanks
I was told the opposite for HAP land

Tried calling DNR to verify but he was out of his office.

Where did you find that info at?
I was told the opposite also by the District 9 DNR office which conflicted with thw info I got from the Lansing office. THIS info is right out of the 2019-2020 hunting digest. I'm going with the "letter of the law" on this one because someone is giving out wrong info. cough...cough...District 9 C.O.'s
