It's been a while, but I think I might try the spearing again. I fish Houghton lake a few times every year through the ice, but not with a spear. I want to make sure I got all the regs correct and thought you guys could confirm for me?

We can now spear pike on Houghton lake, but they have to be 24" in length and can only have 2 in possession. Am I correct?

Also we can use a bow or crossbow. Am I correct?

Thanks guys!

I believe it's crossbow only. Makes no sense but I believe that's the rule. Everything else sounds right.

Yeah. Seems the dnr aren't exactly in touch with us sportsman. Never seen a way to bow fish with a crossbow. :banghead::confused:

Parker makes a crossbow specifically for bowfishing and I have seen kits available for other brands. Just seems inpractical with having to cock the thing and its size and weight. It would probably blow the bolt all the way through fish as well.

ya it definitely sounds a little dangerous too, but I might give it a try. I am more worried about judging the length of a 24" pike before I spear it.
