Treble hooks can have a gap of up to 3/8 of an inch between the point and shank. Single hooks - 1/2 inch. I always thought this applied to driftfishing with spawn, glo-bugs, worms. ect. My question is "does this restriction also apply to the hooks on lures?" J-13 Raps have always been my best crankbait for kings and they come with hooks bigger than #6's ( 3/8 inch gap.) A hot bait we've found this year is the magnum sized Challenger. It's a musky sized bait and comes with at least #1 sized hooks. A little insight from mr. Boehr would be great.
