Just wondering if anyone has checked the ice at Holly rec.

My boys and I checked a small lake near Holly yesterday and found about 1.75 - 2" of ice only. Definetly not safe yet. Probably 4 more days if temps hold. Hope this helps.

Yes went today heron had about 5 inches out about 100 yds from the launch still looked like open water over in front of the beach

I'll be heading out with some buddies this upcoming Saturday. Not sure where we'll go. Looking for pike/pans. Fish the holly rec lakes quite a bit during spring/summer, but have only ice fished Heron once.

If we have some success this upcoming Saturday (wherever in Oakland Co. we go), I'm willing to swap info via PM if anybody has success in Holly.

Took home 25 Fish lots of dinks and bunch of fingerling bass, ice was soft on top but 6 to 8 inches under the soft top from the thaw, slippery .saw about 9 others fishing .
