I made it out Saturday, early morning and late afternoon. I got out a little late in the morning on Sat. after having to make repairs to my shanty before heading out. A big thank you to whoever folded down my shanty (homemade portable) on Friday during the wind storm. I came out Friday after work to check on it when I didn't see it standing anymore. I found it nicely folded down with all of my poles and bungee cords on top and a folding chair near it. I did catch some fish in the morning once set up again. I had to sort to get 10 but didn't keep anything under 9" with the largest at 10.5". Talked to a couple other fisherman and they did ok but I seemed to have the hole. Same story in the afternoon. Kept 9. Ended up with a nice meal of fillets. I didn't put out any tip ups but those that did didn't have any flags.

Gave up on Hess. Been to slow. Maybe next year will be good again. Glad to hear someone catching something out there.

Which hole do you have your shanty set up in? WDGibby and myself were talking about possibly heading down that way this weekend sometime (depending on Mother Nature of course). Maybe we could drop by and say hi if you are out.

I am set up in the middle on the south side. Look for a 2 wood sided shanty with a white tarp. There's a michigan-sportsman sticker on the door. I might be out there on Saturday if I don't head up to another lake by Baldwin. I need to get some perch and gills which aren't plentiful on Hess. Maybe I'll see you guys out there.
