Here are two of my new decoys that I just carved the other day. I started carving old time decoys from the 50’s-60’s out of cedar. I find them on the Internet at auction and try and match them up as close as I can. I’ve had people look at them and ask were I found them. It’s a lot of fun and will be doing many many more.

So what do you guys think?

Nice job!

Are you selling them or is it just a hobby?
Am I reading this correct. You just made those ones recently? They look like they are 40 years old.
Lots of charater in those dekes! If your looking for more to carve here are some 50's decoys given to me by my uncle:

The carver is from the LSC area. We used to use these when I was a kid!

OH man my back started hurting when I seen those. I used to carry wooden Blacks when I first started hunting. They had red glass eye's also. Looooooong time ago.
Thanks Stacemo this is some of the stuff that I was looking for.

Ya I just made them over the weekend, I also made a few others that I didn’t post. As a matter of fact I just sold one today. What I like best about them is that they make great pieces for on the shelf. I just wish the pictures were a little better. I wish I had a picture of the one I sold. I’m sure I’ll have more to post soon.

If you're going for the antique look, you've definitely got it down.
This is my newest one. I have another one almost done…

I have one but I found that a spoke shaver works better.
OH yeah, I forgot about the spoke shave. It is smaller. I don't have one. I should get one. Where, is the question. Some catalog or on the internet. What are you using for wood? I used to use old telephone poles just like the old timers did. They were Western White Cedar. That is hard to come by now. Are you carving those single piece?
