Driving up from an hour away. I put half a bag of salt in the truck. Am I crazy with the cold and mostly the Wind??

If you don't keep it straight, the dock will stop you when the boat hits it and jackknives also! Or, a few years ago, you could end up like this guy! View attachment 301337
was he singing "like a good neighbor, state farm is there?".. ive seen stuff like this river fishing in the early spring, but its normally the guy that has to try to launch first, and on the gas in reverse..

said the guy who watches his rods from the drivers seat of the truck..
If you enjoy fishing the river, then good idea....if you leave wet, cold, fishless, and grumpy, bad idea..

Actually chicken grit, which is crushed granite, works much better, it is coarser and a bit larger and will not melt into a slick mess. I keep it in a sand bag in my truck. The traction it gives is amazing. 1 cup in front and behind your tires will get u out . Most feed stores will carry it. I would never consider a icy ramp with out putting it down before I attempt to launch. I don't want to be "That guy".
now that's something new..never heard of it but its a good tip..thanks
