I use a Polar Vision, looks about the same as that one.
I have never had trouble shooting thru any kind of ice and love mine. I keep an old pop bottle full of water with me and pour some on the ice and shoot away, works great!
They say they will mark fish, but I don't use mine for that. I just use it to find the depth.
