CO Dave Van't Hof worked a boating accident that occurred at the access site on Gun Lake. A subject was trying to start his jet boat by jumping it from the solenoid to the starter with a screw driver. The boat started right up but was in forward full throttle. The jet boat took off, throwing the subject into the water and while being occupied with two children. The boat did a 360 degree circle and struck another boat on its way out into the lake. The boat then did another 360 degree circle and ended up seven feet up onto shore. No injuries were sustained during the incident. The subject who started the boat blew a .14 on the PBT and was taken to the county jail. The investigation is ongoing.

Glad the kids and bystanders were OK. They were very lucky.

As far as the "subject", well, it sounds like he escaped Darwin. Hopefully the children will learn something from his stupidity...
