for those who cant seem to find a pic of this "new" fly, i will put one up here.

can anyone who has tied these give me any help with this. i know i need a different hook because the gap is not near big enough for it to effectively hook fish (in my opinion)

Good Day,

I have tied a similar pattern however instead of using a streamer type hook I went with a short shank and a wide gape. This gave the body of the minnow more flex. Just a thought...

Good Day,

You don't necessarliy have to use a saltwater hook. I believe that many manufacturers have or make steelhead/salmon hooks that will do the job as well. They tend to be a straight eye hook if memory serves. Also, for smaller gummi's I have used straight shank egg hooks (many people use them for glue eggs or yarn eggs).
