I just did my annual public service duty for a local county park.

I'm a Volunteer Deer Hunter.

Ambitious deer hunters looking for a place to hunt may want to check with their county parks to see if they can get on the short list. The meat is 100% donated and the tags are supplied under the DNR block permit system.

I'm currently on 2 different county parks mailing list. These people are honestly looking for help in the deer cull. One park had 5 archery hunts the other had 3 shot gun and 2 muzzle loader season hunts.

These are highly restrictive hunts with safety being the first concern. Orientation, skills testing and other rules are enforced. It's run by county park employees plus others such as a uniformed county sheriff deuputy. Anterless only, no antler deer are allowed to be taken even if you have 2 left over buck tags like me. These hunts are not for everyone but I just plain Luv2hunt.

BTW, unless I personally know you I won't tell you what county but a determined hunter wishing to find a public service project to volunteer for should not have any trouble finding a park to hunt.

This was posted on the QDM forum since I feel percentage wise more doe killers will read this.

PS. Ed Spin if you read this PM me, I'll tell you. You're my hero!

I am next in line for a Deer hunt in Southern Mich. on one of our botanical gardens. It is a prime piece of land which culls out some deer every year. I am still waiting for the call, but I just heard that they allowed some Womens Hunting club to come in and learn to hunt there. So I dont know if I will EVER be called.
