My only other Redington is an older 2 piece 9 ft 8wt Crosswater that I picked up at the original Gander Mountain closing sale. Not a bad rod for salmon. Havent had time to even cast the Chromer let alone fish with it. Havent really heard anything bad about it and I've read its almost the same rod as the new Claymore so I have high hopes and no expectations as its my first true double hand rod.
I have 3 Redington Switch rods, Chromer, Prospector and a Hydrogen. They are my bread and butter rods and use them for just about everything. Great customer service too. Broke the tip on my Chromer in Alaska and they sent me a new rod.
