What kind of grass is the stuff you see all over detroit area highways. It is everywhere along the highways and the exits. It is in low ground and high ground. It is super tall and has a feathery top on it.

Is this stuff switchgrass? I do not think it is. Or is it something else.

It's technical name is Phragmites Australis. If you type that name into a search engine(Yahoo, Excite,etc., there are lots of websites that offer pictures and explanations.

the species is called Democraticus Spendalotus, a noxtious variety that is hard to control because of its voratious appetite to expand without any control.:)
