Looking to buy a gps e collar combo. If I’m going to drop this type of money I figured see if there were suggestions....are they reliable in the woods?
Thanks

I run the alpha series from Garmin, I've never had an issue losing signal in any cover. They aren't cheap, but they are worth it IMO. My dogs run fairly big, I had issues hearing a beeper collar and a bell in windy conditions that's why I updated to the GPS collar

I use the Alpha 100 with 5 of the tt15 mini's. I've had hounds out over 800 yds running Hare and never had a problem. Knowing where yours dogs are while out in the field is priceless.

Another Alpha user here. They are expensive but my experience is they are rugged and are built to last a long time. Ours lasted 8 years without any problems. Had the collars rebuilt this year by collar clinic. Handheld still works same as when new. when the time comes to replace it will be with the newer model of the same...
