hunted for an hour before work on friday. Cloudy and cold and a nice N/NE wind made for some good conditions. Buddy tagged a banded goose from a hail mary shot. His second banded goose in a week, while sitting next to me. :rant::rant:

Saturday we did a quick hunt and then went and scouted a new spot that should be good given some time. both days we heard little shooting. who else saw the brief vertical rainbow Sat Am??/

third pic....hen widgeon???? and the smallest hen blue I think I have ever seen. they were flying as a pair....maybe two widowed hens....:lol:

I am taking a risk here...posting a pic of a rainbow.....
But it was kinda cool...

Noticed that rainbow early on also, then the honks brought us back to reality to shoot more geese. I think those were ice crystals, similar to a sun dog. Nice pics.

Yup Hen Wigeon.. and I know exactly where that is...

Ive probably seen 1500+ birds take their final flight this year,, Ive seen one band in the bunch!!

I wasn't too far from where you were.
We saw the Northern Lights too, but I missed the rainbow.

Nice shore blind...:D ...just kidding...

Tried to eat the widgeon...wow was it bad..
:confused: Widgeon are good eats out in ND. And I'll agree on the hen Widgeon

Great pics Andy. Those greenbeens are sweet!

It tasted like life bad fish?? last one I had a few years back was the same way. It's a puddler so, i'd think it would be ok. Made the BBill we shot taste great.
