Food Plot Question

629 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  slowpoke
My dad called me the other day and asked me if I knew why the neighbor was using a bulldozer to clear the snow off his food plots. The plots are planted in clover etc. and he took all of the snow off them except for about 2 inches. I figured he was either doing it so that the animals could get to it better, or perhaps so that the snow will melt off it sooner in the spring giving it a head start? Not sure, if that is the reasoning or not. Does any one know why he would do this? Just wondering.

I'll bet it was to help the deer out. I use my front loader and cleared some snow off my winter wheat so the deer could get to it the last time I was up north.
