Headed up north this weekend for our annual fishing/camping trip near Kalkaska. We hiked in a canoe this year which was nice to have but a pain to haul out. We ran into the DNR on the way in and the ranger was nice enough to drag our canoe in with his truck (this is a non-motorized area). Caught several small rainbows on small elk hair caddis and a wooly bugger. The fish were small (6-8") and seemed smaller than in years past. I believe this might be a put and take lake and maybe hasn't been stocked in a while. It was fun though except having to haul all our stuff out in a torrential downpour this morning.

Sounds like a good trip, even with the rain.
