went up to the mo yesterday eve plenty of fish rising but could not get any to grab my hook had one hooked by the gill on my line above my float from when he jumped but that was it for me on the trout. wife coaught one rainbow about nine inches and seen a couple eyes taken. but a very slow day for us

Next time try swinging some soft hackles just below the surface. I've had very good luck in there doing that. I've never done really well on that river using traditional dry fly presentations. Especially for the bigger fish.

IMO, the only dry on that river your going to catch the larger trout on are grey drake spinners.

As Chris said, you really need to be in the film to really have a go at larger trout. Even though the caddis hatches are not what they used to be , a caddis emerger fished on the swing will put planters on the line almost every cast and I've hooked many into the 20" range on them also.
