First of the year

I was cutting and clearing a new road in my woods and scared a fawn. I stopped and left the area so fawn can settle down and mom can find it.

Nice picture! - Been waiting for this thread to start...I expect them to show up any day now on our cameras. Fat does have been missing the last few days, plus I spent the weekend up there working on some plots.

Earliest recorded fawns in previous years at our place near Luther was May 16th-19th(?)

I haven't seen them yet but I'll bet that the doe that hangs out in my back yard has hers. I haven't seen her yearlings for about a week so it looks like ma ran them off.

My kid had to put on the brakes in Milford yesterday morning as 4 fawns an 2 does crossed South Hill rd.

Great pic and the doe looks pretty big

Saw my first one today too.

Saw my first one this morning 5-23-23 looked to be a few hours old to me but maybe a day or two... Stand up in wheat field, lay down, stand up, lay down. Mom was standing 75 yards away watching

Sounds pretty fresh.

We saw our first one Sunday morning walking back in from the Turkey blind and I have a number of them on camera consistently now.
