Wigglers were by far my best bait last year. Granted, they're expensive but they are well worth it...

I had my best luck on wigglers until last year. When the jumbos had lock-jaw I switched to the smallest teardrops tipped with waxworms. They slammed 'em! Thanks to my dad who convinced me to try his old faithful technique 
The tear drop was his hand made- reddish/orange in color. Very small. Anyways, can't wait to get out..couple weeks late this year.
