The coat was a gift from a well meaning person who thought I was an XL. That ship sailed years ago. So it never fit and I never wore it. I can't really say if it runs small or not because it's not my size.

Interested. Does it run true to size or small?

I have a size 46 Filson tin cloth cruiser coat and it is true to size. The double Mackinaw I have is an XL, and it's a little long in the sleeves but good everywhere else.
