I apologize in advance for this long thread but want to make sure I do this right for a change. I did buy the 'Ultimate Deer Food Plot' book which is priceless. I have 5 samples from Whitetail Institute Testing Lab
1. P=27ppm K=77ppm Ca=2031ppm Mg=122ppm pH=7.7 (existing clover)
recommends 3-15-30 11lbs/1000 sq ft 2nd year plot
2. P=35ppm K=88ppm Ca=1416ppm Mg=125ppm pH=7.5 (extreme plot)
recommends 3-9-9 38lbs/1000 sq ft & 8-24-24 14lbs/1000 sq ft 2nd yr
3. P=25ppm K=63ppm Ca=1262ppm Mg=125ppm pH=7.4 will be bwheat
then rye recommends 3-15-30 11lbs/1000 sq ft
4. P=17ppm K=47ppm Ca=1656ppm Mg=171ppm pH=7.7 will be bwheat
then rye recommends 3-15-30 11lbs/1000 sq ft
5. P=30ppm K=105ppm Ca=1374ppm Mg=209ppm ph=7.0 can only prep
this spot for next year 4 acres recommends3-15-30 500lbs/acre
Plots are in Shiawasee County. Is this what I need to do and do I add the 25% to these numbers until hitting optimum numbers?
I could have used that book 5 years ago! RDT
