I have to agree I think it is a dog; the back isn't hunched like you see on most pigs and the tail seems to long.

Tail is too big.
A hog's back tends to slope down to the tail making the top of the tail a bit lower than the back of the animal. This critter's back is even with the tail.

I had the thought of a dog, but when I think of the area in the upper pennisula pretty secluded alway from any cabins or homes it made me start thinking, thanks for your thoughts

Dog. My grampa raised pigs. They have short tails and depending on the breed, some are curled. Definetely not a pig
