Have a friend that has been during this for about 10 years. 22 or so has been the top number in his field so far.
The original intent was to draw a coyote or two into the open field near their deer blind.
The 1st pair of eagles showed up about a week after the roadkill was placed in the field.

That’s really cool. And someone has to do it
But I’ve always heard it was against the law to pick up roadkill without a permit.
A taxidermist told me this after someone dumped 2 truckloads of carcasses off on his door step about 20 years ago.
Maybe he was just peed off still and just said that out of frustration
