I have aquired a English Setter that is FDSB registered and in going over it quite a number of dogs have CH in front of their names and I do not want to assume anything but I'll assume that that stands for champion ? After checking American Fields website I see 2 of these dogs are in the hall of fame but but are not designated on the pedigree as such just CH in front of their names.
Also their are numbers, not their registration #'s but look similar to social security numbers and would like to know what these mean.
Last but not least I have talked to several people when asking is they were registered with AKC or UKC and that brought somewhat of a negative response like "no wouldn't own an AKC dog" or "no these are real dogs"
I know AKC is mostly for show dogs but can anyone shed some light on this for me.
Thanks in advance
