Can someone post a link to a site where I can listen to this "Michigan Man" song which is the theme song for Michigan Out-of-Doors? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Also, if anyone has a cd mix of all of these songs mentioned above, pm me. I'd love to find out where to get them.

Okay, ya'll...

I just found a site to listen to Michigan Man by Mike Ridley...

http://www.myspace.com/mikeridley

Is that really the theme song at the beginning of Michigan Out-of-Doors? There's only one short part in the beginning of the song that sounds familiar. Maybe I am listening to the older version or something. Anywhere that I can find the song with the exact lyrics as the show?

Some of the lyrics I think I remember are:

From early morning dew... to the soft summer breeze... to .... dancing on the wind....Michigan... Michigan Out-of-Doors we all share.... it is the perfect legacy ....

Something like that anyway! I don't remember hearing any words of "Michigan Man" before the show in the theme song.

Michigan Man is at the end of the show. The one at the beggining is also Mike Ridley though.

Hmmm, I emailed Mike Ridley and yes, "Michigan Man" is just a song that they play during some segments of the show. His email stated that the actual "theme song" of MI Out-of-Doors is a different song. Now, he didn't say that it wasn't his song but I would have thought that if it was his song, he would have stated the title of it instead of a "different one". Stay tuned to the MUCC website. Mike is trying to get Jimmy Gretzinger to put the song on there for people to download. You can download "Michigan Man" from Mike's MySpace page.

Thanks, I got the song off his myspace.com page. I can't seem to find Tracy Byrds, Pass It On. I will look tonight on a much more in depth search engine.

My favorites are,
1. Bow and Arrow, Uncle Ted for the slower people
2. Fred Bear, Uncle Ted

Also, if you have ever heard Bill Engvall and his deer hunting routine. It is great. Talks about taking his ole lady hunting with him.:woohoo1::lol:

My top 5 are:
1) "Fred Bear" by Ted
2) "Great White Buffalo" by Ted
3) "King" by Niel Young about a deer hunting dog that "wasn't 'fraid to jump off the truck in high gear".
4) "Powderfinger" by Niel Young - not really about hunting at all, but still like it alot.
5) "Pocahontas" by Niel Young

The bugle of the bull elk
echoes through the pines

the north wind moans
her lonesome lullaby

he hungers for the freedom
of an egle as she glides
somewhere beyond the Great Divide...

The mountains callin' to him
like a mother calls her child
he's heard the call of the wild!

Chris Ledoux, Call of the Wild

Those words make me itch for the woods, east or west!

Heard a new song this year. Goes like this..

"Oh sure I'm afraid of jail time and a ticket,"
"But there's a monster buck in farmer Johnson's thicket"
"so I hunt deer..... in posted places"

It's a humorous parody of Gart Brook's "Friends in low places"
Whoever does it, did a great job.

1. Fred Bear (I particularly like the live version from Whiplash Bash).
2. Sunrize (with commentary)
3. I just want to go huntin - Uncle Ted
4. My bow and arrow - Uncle Ted
5. Spirit of the Wild
6. We're Huntin' Southern Style - Colt Ford from Hunting Southern Style TV show
7. I'm Gonna Miss Her, I got a bite - some country song about his wife leaving him because he went fishing.
