English Lab Breeders

Recently found out that the breeder I was going through to get a pup in June won't be able to produce a litter. They were mailed sperm from England and believe that it most likely did not take. Any suggestions on some more reputable breeders? I've heard good things about Hunter's Rose Kennel. There is a local Fox Red Pointing Labs Breeder in my home town but I don't really need a pointer. PM or let me know!

Thanks!

I've heard nothing but good things about Double T.
I plan on calling them when I'm ready for a pup.

There are quite a few British lab breeders out there. Do your homework make sure the pup has all its health clearances. Ask for references, see the parents.

Hunter's Rose Kennel is REALLY good kennel. I sent my female down there for training. They have a litter coming up I really thinking about putting in a deposit down on... (Dixie x Viper) That being said, their lines, along with my dogs lines, are more American FT/HT and pointing lines.

What are you looking for exactly? Why are you thinking English lines? Looks?

A lot good dogs out there...

I appreciate it guys! I'll check it out. Just got a referral from my breeder about a kennel in Illinois. Gonna look into his kennel a little closer. Has anyone heard of big bear kennels?

Lloydboy, I definitely like the look and their relatively calm nature. Have hunted with a few buddy's who have them and they really seem to turn it on when they're in the field. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with training but I've just always wanted one.

Buy what you want but don't be fooled into thinking British = calm ameriacn = hyper. you can get hyper british dogs and calm american.

My last was indeed a very high energy FT breeding, required a lot of running walks etc. the dog now is also FT/HRCH breeding but polar opposite in the house and unfortunately in the field. she retrieves but not with as much go as i would like.

Pay attention to the sire and dam and if they are older, 8, realize they have calmed some since they were 2 and 3.

Or that smaller Labs only produce small labs. My friend breeds his 55-60lbs, pair, sold the pups only to get complaints that the pups were85-90lbs. My ESS male was suppose to be smaller than standard. He is the standard at 14 months!

which fox breeder are you referring to? R&R pointing labs have a litter in june from which im getting one. Seems like a nice guy with good dogs you should check their website.
They're just called Fox Red Pointing Labs and they're out of Holland, MI. http://www.foxredpointinglabs.com/

Been trying to get a hold of the breeder but he hasn't returned any of my calls yet...

Yeah... I gave up on them after trying to email with no response. I got a hold of the Kennel Seabee was referring to and the breeder sounds like an awesome guy. Hopefully going to see the parents today.
