Hi everybody!
I have been working on sighting in my very first ever muzzleloader - a CVA Optima V2 with a Nikon Inline XR BDC Scope on top! It didn't take long for me to get a nice group at 100 yards off a bench with 2 pellets of triple 777. My question is this - how effective would this setup be at longer ranges? The area I hunt has many shots of 150 yards or more possible... should I bump up to 3 pellets? My owner's manual says I can, but triple 777 warns against this... plus I love the low recoil of just 2 pellets! Also I am shooting 250 grain Traditions Smackdown sabots.
Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.
