Me and my running partner drove all the way out to massachusetts to get 4 pups out of some top notch breeding.

Well the breeder never came through with the papers and is not returning phone calls.

We lost $1200 dollers in that deal.
Now the pups are worthless to me with out papers.

Probably a bad mistake on his part I will make sure everyone I know get the whole story about this guy.

Not a wise decision to mess with people with all the free flow of information we have nowadays.

I know ALOT of beagle guys and I'm getting the word out.

If you or anybody you know plans on going to Massachusetts to get beagles get ahold of me first.

Contact his hometown newspaper... I'm sure they'd be interested in some gossip.

Or leave a message with him that you will be doing such. Although, if he's not coming through with the papers... I'd imagine there is a much larger problem at hand.

That really sucks.

Is there any hope at all of getting any papers and possibly making the deal work out?

Is the guy that screwed you the breeder of the top notch line or just someone who has some of the offspring of the line? I remember hearing something like "If you ain't got nothin', you got nothing to lose". If this guy doesn't have a well established reputation on the line, all the publicity in the world won't make him flinch.

Good luck, hope it all works out.

That's too bad, Rob.

Sometimes it's hard to know what's going to happen with the people we buy from...even those that come highly, highly recommended.

Things happen that don't always make sense.

A year ago or so one of the best-known field bred English Setter kennels in the country had all of their dogs removed because of abuse and neglect, something like 23 dogs, at least a couple of which had to be destroyed, several that required a great deal of veterinary care, and all of which needed to go to solid, reassuring homes...the breeder had apparently gone off the deep edge or something. I never did hear the whole story, other than there were still charges against him.

These setters, from New York state, had some of the best blood lines in the world.

Hopefully, this guy will get back to you with a reasonable explanation.

Some of the best people I know are dog breeders, some of the worst I've known are dog breeders. I know of one breeder who falsified O.F.A. info, another who had an extremely popular stud dog that went sterile. He never told any one continued breeding studs son and passed them off as his. Both were caught and punished by A.K.C. but a lot of damage was done. I hope something can be done to help you Rob, Good Luck.

No I have no doubt of who they are out of.

I can tell by looking at them who they are out of. Plus both sires are DNA profiled.

The Male will no doubt be a good rabbit dog. The female I'm not 100% sure she isn't very bold. Papers wont change that. But to me they are useless for breeding.

This is why everyone should be careful when exchanging money for something before they know what they are really going to get. Heck, I bought a dog a lab a couple years ago. Cost me $1000 plus expenses to go to Mississippi to pick him up. Had to put a $100 deposit down. I figured I could take the loss if something happend. Now, would have I put $1000? No way in heck! I don't care how reputable the kennel is. Non of them would make you pay in full before you picked the dog up.

Rob, Sorry to hear about the jerk out there in Mass.

I know you know your dogs so there is no question whether you got took on the critters themselves. I guess since I know nothing about the papers process, I can't say there would be any way for you to protect yourself. Its a real shame that they can't be used for breeding. I know beyond any doubt that they are good dogs though if you bought them.

Nothing pisses me off more than people who don't come through on their word!!! Sorry about all the BS Rob. By the way thanks for the offer to chase rabbits, coming from a guy like you that's one hell of an offer.

Did I mention I'd love to.

No there is no chance they will get registerd.

The Bitch is CKC and she has not been transferred yet to the Breeder I got the pups from. She is still registerd under another person.

So even if he gets here registerd which he has had a while to do he will still have to go through the hassel of registering the litter.

Which is a problem because the persons name whos on the CKC papers has to sign off on the litter, As the breeder, and right now this guy has so many problems that no one is gonna put there name in anything he has his name on.

You cannot breed a bitch w/o the owners consent. So even if he paid the guy for her. She is still considerd to be owned by someone else buy CKC.

It's definatly a messed up situation. But I warned him about messing me around on papers and he gave me his word.

I have dealt with CKC and you have to be on the ball to get anything done. I spent $150 to get a dog registerd through CKC so that I could register it AKC here in the states. That was just one dog. And that took me almost a year.

I have the word out on him now and every one is gonna know about this guy.

The people that are into beagles big time all know now.
It's a pretty small world.;)

Michael,
Anytime you want to go your more than welcome.
