On the weekend of the 25th, my neighbor who hunts my place is loaning us his tractor and disc. He is out of town for work, so we’re using his equipment and a buddy is pretty proficient with the set up.
But we haven’t disced up these food plots in years. They are sandy. Most have a thick bed of low crab grass type growing on them.
Most are 1/4 to a 1/2 acre.
We will buy pellet lime, triple 19 and rye/Winter Wheat since the ph is low and not much else will likely grow.
I’m trying to budget my time with these old plots. We’re going to try to do them all on Saturday and Sunday.
Just wondering, if it’s sandy soil, will the disc bust up the soil pretty easily, if it hasn’t been discussed disced in maybe 10 years?
Some are really light sand.
