My wifes good friend has a 24 yr old nephew who is currently living in europe. He contracted covid last week and was home with mild symptoms. He had a stroke last night because he developed the blood clot issue many have had.

I hadn't looked in a while, but according to the CDC website, Michigan is 8th highest in cases and 9th highest in deaths.
I was a little surprised by this, as I thought Michigan had dropped to the middle of the pack.

If you scroll down to the graph that has the new cases/deaths/recoveries you can see why we climbed back up towards the top starting in Oct.
From about June 1st to mid-Oct. our new cases and new deaths were very low.

Yep, thanks.....I had been watching the number of cases by day on the Detroit News website.
I simply hadn't looked at where we ranked compared to the rest of the nation.

No hidden agenda toward blaming anyone...I was just surprised.

I went back and looked the other day also. At one time we were like 18 or 19 in cases.
Yep, back in April we were about #5 and then dropped way down. Michigan is 10th in population in 2020 according to the site I just looked at.

Damn California is under stay at home orders for nearly the entire state and they had over 34k cases yesterday. How is that possible especially when I thought it was the trumpers doing all the spreading
Easy....let's not drift this into the political section.

Results from Wednesday, 12/16:
Real bad day with several new records set.

230,000+ new cases. 7 day average of 211,000
3,448 deaths. 7 day average of 2,507
113,000+ hospitalized. 7 day average of 110,000

22,000 in the ICU. 7,778 on a ventilator

The good news is Michigan is one of 22 states with a falling number of new cases. The number of new deaths should start falling soon in Michigan.

This meme is terribly inaccurate and misleading. The world is over 1.6 million deaths now and who knows how accurate the reporting is in some countries the real count is probably more. Furthermore this hasnt been going on as long as the 1918 flu so its no surprise there are less cases. Additionally with medical and scientific advances over the previous 102 years its safe to assume the fatality rate would be lower although not insignificant.
