When fishing get hot what are you using to keep track of how many fish you put in the live well. It’s pretty easy to lose count with 2 or 3 guys Cant imagine when fishing 5 or 6

Clickers a great.
But you sometimes forget to click when things get hectic.
When you are getting close, it's probably the safest bet to dump them into the net and get a accurate count.

This is what we use, each color is an 8 fish limit. Who ever puts the fish in the live well pulls a bead. Colors are easy to see and count and it's right next to the live well

I agree with this 100%. To many times the count has been off in my boat. Usually not when the old salt's are out, but a gkid or two or someone not used to the fire drills that happen when things get chaotic.....how many was that, 23 or 25

Problem we have in my boat is once we get pass 10 , nobody wants to take their boot off to keep counting...... especially when it's cold !!

Each guy keeps track of what they put inbox and recount when you get close. First one to 8 becomes the supervisor. Doing more to keep track will result in lack of discipline or willingness to do extra when bite is hot or your in the sweet spot of the drift.

Count them once when taking them out of the cooler. Count them again when putting them back in. Clickers take time away from fishing. The guys I fish with are usually within one or two fish of being accurate on count without clicking.

One beer per fish. I count the empties and know when I reached my limit. Only thing is When you have the hot hand outta 2 other guys in the boat, it can be tough to count accurately seeing double

If you landed a triple, would you be required to drink 3 beers before setting your rods back or maybe you could shotgun 3 really quick? Is chumming allowed for walleye fishing?😆

That idea would get us in trouble at times with the guys I fish with lol

I also count to recheck And watch the counter increment. A few years ago not watching the counter and not recounting the gills got me a ticket for two fish over. The two fish were alive and returned to the lake.

The ticket for two over resulted in $205.00 when all costs were totaled. After that, if within five of the limit (gills or perch) I count the fish.

We always gill the walleye to within about 3 of our if we're confident in the count. We will double check the count before cutting anymore, no sense in being wrong

best thing is this right here.  I got the original smaller one and know for a fact that a 7 lb walleye will fit. So this big one should hold anything. Mount to cooler. Put ice in cooler and never open it.

We use a clicker and double check a few fish before we get a limit. Today there was questioning for quite a while if we were correct with the clicker or not. Turns out we were correct. The saying on my boat goes “click it or ticket.” It can get interesting when fish are biting hot n heavy. It you need a clicker you know it’s been a great day.
