Have a 150 Yamaha with an aluminum prop. Numbers 2016 19.
Want to install a SS Prop.
Tack is not working so I'm not sure of the RPMs at top end.
Really not concerned about whole shots or faster top end speeds. Just want a good all around Stainless Steel. Is it safe to just get a new SS with the same size and pitch as the current aluminum one. If not, why?
If so, what brands are best to consider for the buck.

if your tach is not working i would check your charging system..the tach runs off of that..u really need to see where your at in rpm range is your motor will last longer in the long run with ss your gonna loose some rpm staying at that pitch..alum props flex under loads giving you sightly higher rpm's..a good 4 blade prop will get u up on plane in a heart beat and be a much soother ride
