I'm heading up to Copper Harbor with the family to get away for a week starting tomorrow. I'm curious if anyone could share some tips on what to fish for and what to use from shore?

I'm not bringing a boat or interested in renting one. I will have my young ones with me so any tips to catch things up there would be fantastic.

Thanks guys!

Two augusts ago I was there and there was loads of small splake or lakers under the docks in the harbor. Threw a few things at them without success then tied on a small black jig and had a blast. Nothing big, 12" as probably the biggest.

Used to fish fannyhoe a lot when we were up there. Just off shore you can catch walleye and perch, always do some trout fishing in the streams as well, just take protection

The only protection you might need is from the bugs. You could try the stream mouth across from the park there are usually fish of some kind out there besides there are lots of rocks for the kids to throw.
