Is the closing cost on land the same as when buying a house? Thanks for any help!

Yes,, the closing cost goes to the title company and banks for processing the paper work to change the deed to the new owner.

Sometimes smaller parcels like a vacant subdivision lot or a few acres, paying cash in full or personal land contract without a mortgage etc, have an option of a quit claim deed.
Very cheap to register and the County can verify prior transfers and any outstanding encumbrances as legit...saving title search costs.
We see them done all the time on lots in our Association.
A simple form can be printed out online.
Situations vary as to any risk involved.

I think when I bought my farm the closing costs were quite a bit higher than when I bought my house. Not many places will finance larger pieces of vacant land.
