We are getting to the end of yet another great year of fishing and I figured I would post a very short vid to show you what absolutely excites the hell out of me......kayak fishing for salmon and trout!

We fished recently out of a very popular southern lake Huron port and targeted anything that wanted to bend the rod. Lucky for us, found a couple takers!

I hope you enjoy and thank you so much for taking a look!
(best watched in 1080p, obviously)

Great video. Makes me want to take the yak back out this week! It was another great year for me on the kayak too. In fact only took the big boat out once this year as I was to busy fishing from the kayak. You have an awesome setup. Hope in the next few years to keep adding new toys to the kayak each year. What is the one thing you have on your yak that you like the best. I really like the small downriggers you have on yours and will be looking to add that to mine next year. Just wondering what one thing on your kayak you would hate to live without. Glad you had another great year.

I absolutely love the kayaking videos. Next year I would like to do some great lakes fishing from a yak. Have any suggestions for a yak for me? Would like to stay around 700 bux. I already have some short arm cannons and a portable humminbird. There are just days when I don't want to pull my 22 fter around, or I don't have a crew. p.m. me if you have some suggestions, as I do not want the thread to get off track.
Thanks

Make some good investments and see if you cant bump up to 1100. I hear the Old Town Predator rivals kayaks that are triple its price.

Great vid, as always. The artistry shows. One question about the downrigger, though. I frequently have salmon heading under the yak when I get them in close. Do you wind up downrigger ball when you have fish on to avoid tangling in that situation? I usually try to do that wih my second rod, and having to do it to a rod AND a downrigger AND maintain pressure on the fish sounds like a Chinese fire drill!

Hey Jim, Thanks!

I have tried to get other lines and the downrigger ball up with fish on, but It's really tricky. I've lost fish doing this, so I try to do whatever I can to clear this stuff out of the way, but its not my main concern. It really depends on wave conditions too. It's a lot tougher to do rocking around.

It isn't that I can't come up with the extra money, just don't want to put a boatload of money into something that I will use a handful of times, I already do that with the my 22fter...lol

I did look at predator online and it looks sweet. I will keep checking craigslist.
