I was in FL for the holidays and had a lot of fun throwing a cast net catching various kinds of fish......

I am wondering what the laws are here in MI for cast nets?? Are we allowed to use them, and if so, what fish are legal to net?

.... on the overall size of the net too. The maximum size diameter net you can use here in Michigan is 8' (4' radius). I am not sure if they have a restriction in Florida... but I know they use them much bigger there.

Hope this helps!

They can be used to catch, bowfin, carp, gar, smelt and suckers with restrictions.
See table 4 in this link...http://www.michigan.gov/documents/general-netting-regs_119618_7.pdf
