Carl T. Johnson Center Offers Winter Snowshoeing Workshop

A Winter Wonderland Snowshoeing Workshop will be offered Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center at William Mitchell State Park in Cadillac. The workshop, which starts at 10 a.m., will feature David Foley as the snowshoe hike leader.

The event will feature a short program on the history on snowshoeing and provide beginners with the how-to's of the sport. Upon completion of the program, participants will join Foley for a hike on snowshoes. Persons with medical conditions are advised not to participate.

A limited number of snowshoes are available on a first come, first served basis. Participants are encouraged to bring their own snowshoes.
