Try South Manistique. Good variety of fish species. Curtis has a few more amenities than Deer Park.

 

I'm not sure how adventurous of a trip you are looking for but Pretty Lake quiet area just north of Pine Stump Junction is nice. Several lakes with a wide variety of species. There is a rustic campground as well with waterfront sites.

 

Michigamme has a lot of water and islands to explore, and a state park.

 

I second that. It is just a hop, skip and jump to Craig Lake SP for some back country fishing if the urge for some of that strikes a person. Good brookie fishing in some nearby lakes and streams too. FM

 

If you have a boat there are lots of good campsites if you stay on an island. Wisconsin and Michigan DNR sites list family camping at island sites and most require a reservation. TFF camping is just a great experience if you head west on US2.
