Me and my son went out goose hunting this evening. Got to the field at 2:20 and just started pulling decoys out of the trailer and turned and look and the geese stated to leave the river. So we scrambled to pull the dec's and get set up but the bird's just keep coming wave after wave so we were busted big time. Finaley got into the blinds just to watch hunderds of geese circle the filed next to us. Did manage to pull 7-10 a way from the flock but circle to high for a shot.So no geese today. My son got cold and went and sat in the truck about 4:50 the ducks started flying. missed on 2 greenheads but managed a hen. She was small this year hatch maybe. Just can't believe the geese flew that early but yet again that front was moving in. Might give it a go in the morning depend's if it turns to rain.

I heard from my buddy's dad they worked around noon too, we sat out there til about 9:30 and didn't see a bird. That was terrible. I found some new geese though and hopefully these birds will be more predictable.
it's the cold weather they are staying on the water longer to keep it open and I think they are only feeding 1 time midday / afternoon right now.
Around me, they left the roost around 9am. Landed in the field i decided not to shoot because there was so much ice in the morning. They piled in until noon and spent the entire day in the field until 435pm.
