This time of the year tracking down the smallies can be tough on Mullett and Burt. Don't get me wrong, there is some excellent fishing to be found under the right conditions and time of the year. This time of the year the smallies are pushed a little deeper, due to the warmer water and the boat traffic. Try jigging the steeper drop-offs in about 15-20 feet of water with jigs, tubes, and shakey head worms. Thats usually where they can be found durning the day hours. Early morning and and later in the evening start working the weedlines and shallows for feeding bass. If its a warmer day, start hitting the boatdocks and shady areas for some hiding slobs....Good Luck!
