We planted a crop called "buckwheat" at our lease a few weeks back and it has produced very well.

Also planted was peas, soybeans, and winter wheat.

The deer have been feeding on most everything with the exception of the buckwheat. Have you ever heard of this crop, and will they eventually feed on it?

Thanks for your help,

David

Dave I also planted buckwheat just for a green manure crop. When I tilled it under some of it came back up. I was kinda worried it would shade out my trefoil and clover mix but after the first freeze the deer been chomping it right to the ground. I was out last night and watch 4 deer in it for over 45 minutes. Happy hunting to you.......marty

Marty:

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I haven't done the planting bit since I was a teenager, then my Grandmother forced me too. hehe

Have a great and safe season,

David
