Anybody ever hear of any brownies coming up the river? Any in Lake Erie?

Brownies are planted in the river every year but they are not very prevalent. They are there if you can catch up with them.

Ypsi--

I don't know of any browns coming up from Erie. They put broodstock fish in the huron up by Wixom every spring. There's a 1 month fly-only C&R season in April, then after the opener it's all-tackle, general regs fishing until they're fished out. I have never tried this, but might this year.

ypsifly,

Adult browns are planted in Kent Lake as a put and take fishery, meaning they are either caught by anglers or die the same year they are planted. The Huron main stream is a warm water fishery, not good trout habitat. A small number of tributaries are cold water but not stocked for various reasons, lots of private property among the reasons at the top of the list.
