Brighton Recreation Area Hosting Annual Spring Fling May 6
Department of Natural Resources park and recreation officials today announced that Brighton Recreation Area is hosting its second annual Spring Fling on May 6 from 12 to 5 p.m.
Programs on geocaching, horseback riding, mushroom hunting, kite flying, camping, biking kayaking, hiking, and archery will be presented at the Bishop Lake day use complex.
We wanted to provide a wide variety of GO- Get Outdoors programs so there will be something to appeal to each family member, explained Park Supervisor, Joe Hall. We have 24 groups that will be volunteering to help present these programs. Food vendors will also be on hand so all you need to do is come on out and have a good time.
There is no charge for the event. However, a valid state park Motor Vehicle Permit is required. For more information please contact the park at (810) 229-6566.
All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources for current and future generations.
