Tonight was my 6th time small game hunting this year and I finally got my grouse. Got two actually and should have had 4. Shifty little buggers. Had about a dozen flushes. I finally found a patch a woods that is full of grouse. How is everyone else been doing this year? This is my first year really getting into small game/ upland birds, so I don't know much but am learning. For you pros out there, are grouse around all winter or do they migrate/hibernate?

They look like real nice birds! Congratulations I used to just walk them up when I was younger and then for years with may labs Which I really enjoyed. But nothing compares with when your young dog puts it all together and gets a good point for me.

Nice looking Golden eye & redhead by the way.

They are around all winter but the season closes Jan. 1 in MI. I think.
