Without going nuts on dollars spent since it is something seldom used, what is the best knife sharpener you've used for say under $30.00. Does anybody know if some butcher shops will still sharpen knives for a fee?

Lansky. Will last near forever and I can shave with any knife I own.

but the lansky is more than $30, no?

I looked at the redi-edge, and that is a carbide vee-type.

no doubt the lansky system does the best job, but the redi-edge is 20x easier and faster and fits in your pocket.

of course, one of each would be best. lansky when you have the time and space, carbide in the field.

Try a Redi Edge and you will toss that 20 minute sharpener out to the trash.....Redi edge is the fastest, easiest, fits right in your pocket.......Hard to beat IMO.......Mack......O yeah and cheaper then most:chillin:
