What is a better deep water flasher Vexilar or Marcum Looking to get something to fish lakers and whitefish with. Something that will give good target seperation in water over 100ft. Anyone have experience with these units in deep water?

My buddy and I both have Vexilar's with the dual 9/19 transducers. We use the 9 in the deep water for trout and whitefish. We fish Crystal Lake, Elk, Torch, North end of Leelanau and E & W GT Bays, often to 160' water. Vexilar works great with good target seperation. It will easily mark a # 4 or 5 pimple, or a small sand blaster in deep water over 100'. No experience with the Marcum in deep water.

My vote goes to Zercom which is now Marcum.I think Zercom has better target sep. and my battery life is 3 times what a Vex is. Just me 2 cents.
